Xiaomi's Redmi Y1 and Redmi Y1 Lite will be going on sale on Friday via Amazon India. Both the Redmi Y1 and Redmi Y1 Lite are selfie-focused smartphones. The smartphones are also the first from Xiaomi to come with selfie as the biggest highlight and are targeted at entry-level segment.
To recall, the Xiaomi Redmi Y1 Lite will be available at Rs. 6,999 and Xiaomi Redmi Y1 will be available at Rs. 8,999.
Both the Redmi smartphones will be available on Friday starting at 12pm IST and will be available via Amazon app. The online retailer says that the Xiaomi Redmi Y1 and Redmi Y1 Lite will only have prepaid mode of payment during the sale on Friday.
"Only orders placed from http://amazon.in/redmiyseries or from the deals widget on the product page, during this defined time period will be successful. Orders from wish list, customers reviews & all other platforms/functionalities will be blocked at checkout stage," points Amazon India listing page.
Refreshing specifications, the Redmi Y1 features a 5.5-inch HD display and is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 435 processor coupled with 3GB and 4GB of RAM. For selfies, the Redmi Y1 sports a 16-megapixel front camera while there's a 13-megapixel rear sensor with LED flash. It also comes with LED at the front for selfies. The smartphone comes with fingerprint scanner. It is backed by a 3080mAh battery.
Coming to the Redmi Y1 Lite, it features almost identical specifications to the Redmi Y1. The biggest difference, however, is it's powered by quad-core Snapdragon 425 processor. It also comes in only one RAM and storage variant: 2GB RAM with 16GB storage.
