Xiaomi is giving Android Nougat-based software update to these 40 smartphones

Xiaomi announced the MIUI 9 back in July 2017. The company has now announced the list of 40 smartphones which will receive the MIUI 9 update. The company confirmed the news via its official Weibo account. The list includes all the major devices which were launched last year as well as some that launched in 2016. 


The list of smartphones which will receive MIUI 9 update will include Xiaomi Mi Mix 2, Xiaomi Mi Mix, Xioami Mi Note 3, Xiaomi Mi Note, Xiaomi Mi 6, Xiaomi Mi 5, Xiaomi Mi 5s, Xiaomi Mi 5s Plus, Xiaomi Mi 4s, Xiaomi Mi 4, Xioami Mi 3, Xiaomi Mi 2, Xiaomi Mi Max 2, Xiaomi Mi Max, Xiaomi Redmi 5, Xiaomi Redmi 5 Plus, Xiaomi Redmi 5A, Xiaomi Redmi 4X, Xiaomi Redmi 3S, Xioami Redmi 3X, Xiaomi Redmi 4A, Xiaomi Redmi 4, Xiaomi Redmi 2, Xiaomi Redmi 2A, Xiaomi Redmi 1S, Xiaomi Redmi Note 4X, Xiaomi Redmi Note 5A, Xiaomi Redmi Note 2, Xiaomi Redmi Note 3, Xiaomi Redmi Pro, Xiaomi Redmi Note, Xiaomi Mi Pad 3, Xiaomi Mi Pad 2 and Xiaomi Mi Pad.

Xiaomi MIUI 9 brings features like split-screen, which enables the users to run two apps side-by-side. It also comes with universal search for images on keywords like expression, location, documents and others. The company has also integrated and AI assistant on MIUI 9 and claims that the assistant is smart enough to 'find anything and everything'. The UI layer also offers app suggestions based on on-screen content.

The company has not mentioned any timeline for the roll out, but it is expected to come within next few weeks on all the smartphones.

Recently, Gizmochina revealed that the company is presently testing the MIUI 9 update for Redmi 4 standard Edition and Redmi 3 as well. In November last year, the company rolled out MIUI 9 update on Redmi Y1 and Y1 Lite.
